Certifications Director

The Certifications Director is responsible for the oversight of the quality, delivery and promotion of Chapter learning programs leading to PMI certifications.

Moreover, the Director is also responsible to the Officers, other Directors and members to develop and execute a Board approved Certification Strategic Plan. The content of the plan is to be consistent and in accordance with the strategic objectives of the Chapter and will be accomplished with the guidance of the PMI-VI Board of Directors and Executives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and documentation of an ongoing Certification Portfolio Strategic Plan.
  • Oversight of Chapter educational program(s) leading to PMI certification e.g. the semi-annual PMI-VI Certification Exam Preparation Seminar (CEPS) offering
  • Sponsoring or directly managing a medium sized group of diverse volunteer instructors and administrators
  • Oversight of  quality control and assurance of PMI-VI course material and delivery
  • Promoting and providing information to members and non-members about PMI certification requirements and course options
  • Sponsor, participate and/or provide expertise during any course material re-writes as a result of new PMI Standards releases (e.g. PMBOK®)
  • Providing certification material and communications for posting on the Chapter website and other marketing platforms
  • Create new and/or update existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Policies pertinent to the Certification portfolio (as necessary and identified in the Certification Strategic Plan).
  • Regularly attending PMI-VI Board of Directors meetings

Length of Appointment

  • A 2 year commitment.

Time Commitment

Approximately 15 hours per month.

  • Attends Board meetings each month
  • Attends dinner meetings (5 per year)
  • Execute responsibilities of position and other related duties

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with theory and practice of Adult Education preferred, including curriculum development, delivery, and evaluation
  • The ability to lead volunteers, and mentor course participants
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of PMI Certification Exam requirements
  • Understanding of other Project Management course offerings
  • PMI and PMI-VI Chapter member in good standing.
  • PMP or other advanced PMI designation
