Chapter History

Chartered in February 1996 with 46 founding members, the chapter was created to serve you, PMI members on Vancouver Island, and the community of practitioners and users of project management services in our area.

Currently, we have just over 500 members, and over 50% are either Project Management Professionals (PMP) or Certified Associates in Project Management (CAPM).

Our Chapter’s volunteer Board of Directors is elected every year at the Annual General Meeting, which takes place place in May each year. The Board consists of the Executive and a number of Directors with, and without portfolio.

Since our inception, our chapter continues to grow and this growth truly reflects the private and public sector’s increasing reliance on solid project management practices. Our membership background is very diverse with expertise spanning; government, IT, hospitality, construction and various other sectors.
