May 2017 AGM & Dinner Meeting – PMI’s Pulse of the Profession®

Please join us for our regular Chapter dinner meeting which will also host our yearly Annual General Meeting and Elections for the new Board of Directors for 2017-18.

Please Note: This will be a seated, buffet-style dinner. 

Come prepared to meet and mingle with Vancouver Island’s project management community and listen to an engaging speaker – all while earning PDUs!

Early Bird price available until 4:30 PM on May 19, 2017.

All tickets after 4:30 PM May 19, 2017 and at the door are $50.00.

Enter using the door off Humboldt St.

Parking is available on street or in the Broughton St. Parkade. Please do not park in the Union Club parking lot as this is reserved for Union Club members.

Roberto Toldeo

Speaker Bio:

An active PMI volunteer for more than 12 years, Roberto is currently a member of the PMI Board of Directors. Previously he served on the PMIEF’s Board of Directors (2012-2016) where he was chair of the board in 2014. From 2008 through 2013, Roberto Toledo was a contributing editor for PMI’s PM Network® magazine. Since 1996, he has been part of the faculty of Mexico’s Institute of Technology (ITAM), where he currently heads the Master’s Certificate Program in Project Management, and lectures at the graduate level. He is also an instructor with the Inter-American Development Bank.

Roberto holds the PMP® certification since 2002, is an MBA from ITAM and an Architect from Iberoamericana University.

Roberto is CEO and Founder of Alpha Consultoría, SA, one of Latin America’s leading project management training and consulting firms. He is also Chief Learning Officer at Alpha PM Consulting, Inc based in Chicago, IL.

Carol Bellringer will speak on the status of IT projects in BC

The Status of IT Projects in B.C. – a perspective from the Auditor General of British Columbia on the importance of best management practices, meeting timelines and staying on budget, as well as lessons learned from recent OAG IT audits.

Speaker Bio:

Carol Bellringer is the Auditor General for the Province of British Columbia and former Auditor General for the Province of Manitoba. Ms. Bellringer possesses an extensive background in conducting financial statement audits, performance audits, and investigations. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Ms. Bellringer holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University, Montreal, and an MBA from the Warsaw School of Economics/University of Quebec at Montreal. She was named a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Manitoba in 2006, and B.C. in 2015, in recognition of her contributions to the community and the profession. 

Prior to leading the Offices of the Auditor General in Manitoba and British Columbia, Ms. Bellringer served as the City Auditor for the City of Winnipeg, and has held management positions with KPMG in Montreal, Toronto, and Winnipeg, and with Media One International in Warsaw, Poland. She is also a former Director of Private Funding at the University of Manitoba. 

In addition to her professional experience, Ms. Bellringer has held several board positions for businesses, charities, and arts organizations. She currently serves on the board of the International Federation of Accountants and is a member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Oversight Council. She is a past board member for the Manitoba Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors, the  Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Manitoba Hydro, the Canadian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, and CCAF-FCVI Inc.
